Task 4: Mini investigation- look around the house and see if you can find objects of different lengths, density and size. For example, plastic bottles, glass bottles, cardboard boxes, elastic band, string of different length etc…

1, Predict (have a guess) how the pitch of the noise will change when you strike them gently with a wooden spoon.

2, Test your prediction. Were you correct?

3, Why did this happen?

Why does the item create different pitches of sound?

Is it because of size, thickness, tightness, length or density?
